It is said that fingers are being pointed at the Majlis and meanwhile to maintain the quorum
According to the president of the Majlis, when some bills are not finalised in timely manner, it is alleged that affairs of the state are being kept pending.
In this connection, he has appealed to the Members to be present at all the sessions in order to maintain the quorum during the second session of the Parliament.
During the first sitting of the second session of the Majlis held yesterday, while addressing the Members, the President of the Majlis Ahmad Zahir said that there are too many tasks to be done.
Hence in order to expedite this, the President has encouraged Members to register regular presence to the sessions and committee meetings.
Meetings which have 11 members have sometimes had to keep work pending due to the absence of 4 of the members.
The President Ahmad Zahir appealed not revert to such practices.
"It is earnest desire that Transport and Police Bill to be attended and finalised urgently.
If it is not finalised during this month we would face lot of hurdles.
Because of the long delay in finalising these Bills and consequent repercussions that are cropping up in addressing important national issues, finger pointing begins." Zahir said.
According to Zahir, even though it was stated during the first session that from the beginning of the second session a dedicated parliamentary channel would be available, it was not possible to implement it as per the correspondence he had with the Minister of information, due to budgetary restrictions.
However, all the necessary work for it is still being carried out none stop by the Information Ministry, he told.
